CECIL HAROLD BROWN, age 82 of Calhoun, Tenn. died Monday, November 23, 2009, in Skyridge Medical Center in Cleveland, Tenn.
He was a native of Shepherd, Texas , resident of McMinn County, Tenn. for many years, and former resident of Lufkin, Texas, and was a son of the late William Floyd and Thelma Lodesky Cloyd Brown.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church formerly Clawson Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas where he served as a Deacon. He worked 12 years at Southland Paper Co. in Lufkin, Texas before coming to Bowater Paper Mill and retired in 1985. He is a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by Sister: Geneva Louise Brown and Brother-in-law: Kenneth Richardson. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, beekeeper, and woodworker.Survivors: Wife of 64 years:Dorothy Jean Richardson Brown Four Sons and Daughters-in-law: Charles Alvin and Jewel Brown of Calhoun, Tenn., Gerald Travis and Patricia Brown of Lufkin, Texas, Dicky Harold and Patricia Brown of Arlington, Texas, and DavidJeffery and Teri Brown of Colorado Springs, Col. Six Grandchildren: Janet Michelle Gunkler, Amy Denise Everson, Eric Ryan Brown, Jennifer Lynne Ramon, Robert Harold Brown, and Gerald Wayne Brown. Four Great- Grandchildren: Jason Gunkler, Cory WayneBrown, Samantha Dawn Everson, and Jessica Gunkler. Brother-in-law and wife: Delbert and Verna Dine Richardson of Lufkin, Texas, Burl and Lois Richardson of Lufkin, Texas, Sister-in-law: Betty Richardson of Lufkin, Texas.
Funeral services will beheld 8:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Oran Creasman officiating.
Interment will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday in Eastanallee Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gary Landers, Steve Landers, Richard Burke, MaynardWilson, Jimmy Morrow, Ronnie Creasman, George Parkinson, and Don Melton.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P. M. Wednesday in Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home, Athens, Tenn.
