Ruth Womack, 81, of Riceville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at her home.
A native of Meigs county and a resident of McMinn County for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Joel and Georgia Elizabeth Carringer Crisp. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Elmer Crisp, Charles Crisp, Bobby Crisp, Willie Crisp, Emmett Crisp, James Crisp and Howard Crisp; and one sister, Hester Womack. She was a member of the Church of God and attended Riceville Church of God.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Johnny Womack of Riceville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol Jayne Thomas of Nashville, and Patsy Ruth and Jimmy Wooten of Cleveland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Mary Womack of Englewood, and David and Teresa Womack of Athens; six grandchildren and spouses, Tammy and Jimmy Jernigan and Chris and Sandra Thomas, all of Murfreesboro, Mitzie and Scottie Wiggins of Englewood, Holly and Michael Harris of Cleveland, Dana and Jeff Pack of Riceville, and Theresa and Jared Sacco of Cleveland; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Signature Health Care of Cleveland and Caris Hospice of Athens.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie McDowell, the Rev. Doyle Prince and the Rev. Tony Crisp officiating. Burial will follow in Beta Cemetery in Meigs County.
Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Crisp, Johnny Crisp, Jeff Pack, Jay Moses, Jerry Moses and Billy Palmer.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
