Ollie Sue Knox Kyle, age 88, of Athens and formerly of Niota died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at NHC of Athens.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lula Monroe Knox, and was preceded in death by her First husband, Fate Tyler and Second Husband whom whe was married for 54 years: Robert Hoyl Kyle on April 28,1995; daughter, Roberta Sue Kyle; grandson, Jeffery Lynn Knox; great-great-grandson, Kaiden Knox; three sisters, Grace Knox, Clara Key, Julie Floyd; and four brothers, Bill Knox, Lewis Knox, Robert Knox, and Ralph Knox, Two Sons-in-law: Carlos Kingand Billy Joe Knox.
She was a member of Niota United Methodist Church and a former employee of Cresent Hosiery Mill and Ridge Textile for 18 years and retired from Athens Products after 11 years. An avid bowler and Atlanta Braves fan for many years, she bowled with the Senior Citizens Bowling League.
Survivors: 2 daughters and son-in-law, Peggy King of Athens and Kitty and Tim Roberts of Niota.6 grandchildren and spouses, Sheri Stewart, Jeffrey and Tamara King, Johnny and Cristy King, Billy Ray and Lisa Knox, Hoyl Travis and Rebecca Knox, Raymond Scott and Kimberly Knox, and Valeria Knox; 11 great-grandchildren, Joshua Stewart, JustinStewart, Jared King, Alyssa King, Callie King, Joseph Knox, Ryan Knox, Trevor Knox, Joshua Knox, Jonathan Knox, and Stephanie Knox; 2 great-great-grandchild, Kaelyn Abigail Stewart and Kyler Knox; several nieces and nephews; Special Friends: GladysBaker, Lucille Burke, and Ella Rhea Melton.
Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Ensminger officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at McMinn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey King, Johnny King, Travis Knox, Trevor Knox, Billy Knox, Josh Stewart, and Justin Stewart.
