ODES EUGENE JACKSON, age 84 of Athens, Tenn. died Tuesday, January 26, 2010, in Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tenn.

He was a native of Bradley County, Tenn., resident most of his life of McMinn County, Tenn. and a son of the late Clint and Matilda Susan Shadwick Jackson. He was preceded in deatha by Three Sisters: Hazel Jackson, Ida Mae Jackson, Mildred Walsh, Five Brothers: Lewis, Lester, Vestor, Roy, and Ira Jackson and Great Granddaughter: Kelsey Rockholt.

He was retired employee of the City of Athens where he was nominated for the Murphy Snoderly Award and was a former employee of Hammer-Johnson Supply Co. He was a Diety at the Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors: Wife of 63 years: Katherine E. Wicker Jackson of Athens, Tenn. Two Daughters and Son-in-law: Linda Kathleen and James Russell of Riceville, Tenn. Brenda Eugenia Rockholt of Decatur, Sister: Odesal Jackson of Athens, Tenn. Four Grandchildren and Spouses: Shannon R. and Scott Coe, Jason and Misty Carter, Scott and Michell Rockholt, and Jenna and Chris Peak, Seven Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services 11:00 A. M. Friday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral with Rev. Jimmy Jackson officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will recieve friends from 5-8 Thursday in the funeral home.
