Joe B. Pedigo, age 63 of Niota, passed away Tuesday August 8, 2017 at his residence.
A native of Maryville, TN and a resident of McMinn County for the past 53 years, he was the son of the late Burton Pedigo Jr. and Alice Montgomery Pedigo Stephens. He was of the Baptist faith and was a tow motor operator for Johnson Controls for 39 years.
He was a kind, loving son, brother and uncle to all his nieces and nephews and his great ones also. He was love by many. He was a part of the National Rifle Association and the VFW, as well as a long-time member of The National Sherriff’s Association. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his step father Ross Stephens; step brother, James Ross Stephens; cousin, Jackie Lynn Montgomery; grandmother, Zella Montgomery and step sister, Jeanette Brown.
Survivors: Two brothers and sister-in-law, Marty and Cyndy Stephens of Niota, Taylor Stephens of Athens; Two Step brothers and step-sisters-in-law, RL and Jill Stephens of Niota, Ray and Bunny Stephens of Soddy Daisy; Step sisters, Betty Croft of Athens, Joyce Ballew of Athens; Two nieces, Meagen and Russell Senn Knoxville, Ramie and Josh Simpson of Niota; Four Nephews, Caid and Krystal Wallace of Niota, Ross Stephens of Niota, Triston Stephens of Athens, Isley Stephens of Athens;
Great nieces and nephews, Rosalyn and Ian Wallace, Noah and Naomi Simpson; Faithful companion, "Happy" (dog).
Funeral services will be 7:00pm Friday, August 11, 2017 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Hammonds officiating.
The graveside will be 11:00am Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Mount Harmony Cemetery Niota, TN.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lowry, Terry Russell, Dennis Graham, Russell Senn, R.L. Stephens, Ray Stephens and Spenser Hall. Honorary pallbearer David Dilbeck.
The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Friday before the service at the funeral home.
