JUDY KIMBALL BYRD OFFUTT of Athens, Tenn., known to all her family as “Nana”, passed away on July 29, 2017, after a brief illness.
She had a lifelong passion for nursing, having graduated from the UT School of Nursing in 1961. She gave generously to those in need of her skills and compassion her entire life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens, where she was a devoted member of the Adult Senior Choir, who will be singing at her service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ola Q. and Duval G. Byrd, her identical twin sister, Jerri B. Bell, and her eldest son, John Darrek Offutt.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. John E. Offutt; her daughter, Michele O. Trofatter; her son, Dr. David Q. (Julie) Offutt, her daughter, Nichole (Joe) McLoughlin; and the JOY of her life, her 15 grandchildren: John Thurmond Offutt, Dara Webb (Jason) Ramstein, Katharine Elizabeth (Adam) Ambrosetti, Maren Kendall Trofatter, Rebecca Elaine (Jonah) Nelson, Rachel Anne Offutt, Keegan Nichole Trofatter, Sarah Kimball Offutt, Miriam Grace Offutt, Claire Analise Offutt, George Thomas McLoughlin, Emily Jane Offutt, Norah Joelle McLoughlin, William David Offutt, James Darrek Richard Offutt; and one great-grandchild, Audrey Juliette Ambrosetti. She is also survived by her nephews, Dr. Jerald Bell and Andrew Bell and her niece, Duval Steele, along with her sister-in-law, Sally Offutt.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Athens, TN from 4:30-7 p.m. on August 1, 2017.
Service to follow at 7 pm, officiated by Dr. Jason Clark. Family and friends will gather at the Byrd Family Cemetery in Huntsville, TN on Wednesday, August 2nd at 1 pm for a graveside service.
