Allan Rondall Powers

Allan Rondall Powers, age 71, of Athens passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Athens, he was the son of the late Carl (Sonny) Anderson and Ana Marie Randolph Powers. Allan worked for S&K Auto Parts and Dooley Tractor, and was known for fixing any kind of tractor. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed old cars. He loved his family, his donkey "Jack" and enjoyed helping the community as a mechanic and machinist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Powers; his children's mother, Linda Higdon; brother, Kenneth Powers; brother-in-law, Earl Lynn; previous wife, Debbie Kimsey.

Survivors include; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Amy Powers of Niota; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Shane Robinson of Riceville;  grandchildren, Hunter Gordy, Aryanna and Matt Frazier, Skylee Powers, Alex Powers, Jackson Hubbard, Isaiah Robinson, Bethany Robinson, Isaac Roberson, Paityn Robinson; great-grandson, August Gordy; brothers, Rickey Powers, two sisters and son-in-law, Sheila and Freddie Womac, and Connie Lynn; sister-in-law, Jenni Powers; several nieces and nephews; best friends, Mike Shell and George Watkins.

Funeral services will be 7 pm Monday, March 3, 2025 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Dalton and Pastor Torrance Farmer officiating. The interment will be 2 pm Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at McMinn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Alex Powers, Josh Powers, Michael Watson, Danny Roberts, Marcus Houston and Mike Shell, The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday at the funeral home before the service.
