Betty Mae Croft

Betty Mae Stephens Croft born March 8, 1944 gained her heavenly wings with her Lord and Savior Feb. 16, 2025 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was a member of Niota Methodist Church. She started working at the age of 16 at Niota Textile for many years and retired from Plastic Industry. She is proceeded in death by the love of her life for 49 years Charles Croft; her parents, Ruby Stephens and Ross Stephens; Mother and Father-in-law Marie and Reed Croft; one grandson that thought the world of her, Nathan Crye; one sister and husband, Jeanette and Bill Brown; three nephews, Billy, Ronnie Brown and David Shell, a step-brother, James Stephens; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Girleen and Bob Howard, Hershil and Joyce Croft, Jerry Croft and Peewee Shell; An ex-son-in-law that she thought this world of, Ricky Crye.

Survivors include 5 children that were the love and joy of her life, Donna Crye of Charleston, Debbie and Michael McDonald of Etowah, Denise and Scott Johnson of Riceville, Christy Croft of Athens, Scott and Stephine Croft of Athens; Granchildren and Spouses, Brandy Henry and Joey Crye of Charleston, Tasha and Shawn Hicks, Jessica Croft, Alex McDonald of Etowah, Anthony Johnson of Riceville; Great Grandchildren Amber Henry or Charleston, Natalee Crye of Athens, Cameron and Caden Maynard or Etowah, Emerie Hicks of Etowah; Brothers and Sister-in-law Ray and Bunny Stephens of Soddy Daisy, R.L. and Jill Stephens of Niota, Juanita Shell of Athens, and Carolyn Croft of Etowah; Step-Brothers, Step-Sisters and Spouses, Marty and Cindy Stephens of Niota, Taylor Stephens of Niota, Joyce Ballew of Florida; Three Special Friends Sandy Cardin, Cathy Wilson, and Ex Son-in-law Dwayne Burger and her fur Baby Reco. Several Nieces and Nephews 

Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2025, with Special Speakers R.L. Stephens and Ray Stephens and Preacher Larry Johnson officiating. A Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, Feburary 22, 2025, at Niota Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM before the service in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. 

Pallbearers will be Alex McDonald, Anthony Johnson, Scott Croft, Cameron Maynard, Caden Maynard, and Randy Croft.
