Betty Jo Pierce, age 90 of Athens, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin L and Elva Ritchie Ditmore. Betty worked for McMinn County Ford Motor Company for many years, as well as Farm Bureau of McMinn County. Betty was known for her acts of love and service to many friends and family, through her cooking and many quilts that she made and gifted through the years. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Hamilton Pierce (April 21, 2012); brother, Charles “Charlie” B. Ditmore and three sisters, Juanita (Otis) Galyon, Gladys (Stump) Rountree, and Onari (Alvin) Rountree.
Survivors include; One sister, Jane McKinney of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr Jenny, Trina, and Hearth Hospice for the care, love, and kindness for Betty over the years.
