Betty Jean Walker

MARYVILLE – Betty Jean Walker (Craft) passed away at her home at the age of 92, on February 5, 2022.  She was born on October 7, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia.  Betty is preceded in death by her father Allen and her mother Martha Craft, husbands George Price Sr. and Charles Walker, nine brothers and sisters to include Ruth (Joni) Craft with whom she was very close, and daughter Sharlene Adams.  Betty is survived by daughter Pamela Curtis and husband Robert (Buddy), son George Price Jr., and grandchildren Tammy and Jeff Rule, Patricia and Don Tipton, Kimberly and David Jones, Staci and Philip Monroe, Jon and Angela Gammon, Christina and Rick Ellis, Kori and Daniel Compton, and Jeff Price.  She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank her care givers, Buddy and Pamela Curtis, for their devoted care during her final years.

Betty was a loving grandmother and friend to all of her grandchildren.   She was a talented quilter and crocheter, who made sure her family, as well as veterans and hospice patients, received one of her blankets.  She loved to sing and spent years singing in a choir or as a soloist in the church.  She could also play the piano.  Betty enjoyed cooking and hosted the family get-togethers up until her death.  Betty retired from the U.S. Department of the Army in Fort McPherson after many years of dedicated employment. 

Betty loved the Lord and prayed daily for her family and friends.  She enjoyed sharing her knowledge of the Bible and encouraging others to follow Christ. 

She had the love, wisdom, and experience to help guide her loved ones when the need arose.  We are happy knowing that she is now with God in Heaven.
