BILLIE RUTH HICKS DILBECK, age 81 of Niota, Tenn. passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at her residence surrounded by family and friends. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Henry James (H. J.) and Viola Carroll Hicks and preceded inn death by Daughter: Karen Rene Dilbeck, Sister: Donzella Underwood, Grandson: Matthew Arden and son-in-law: Tony Carver. She retired from Athens Furniture after over 35 years of service and was a member of East Niota Baptist Church: Husband of 61 years: Marshall David Dilbeck of Niota, Tenn., Daughter: Tammy Dilbeck Carver of Niota, Tn., Son and daughter-in-law: James David (Pete) and Shelia Dilbeck of Niota, Tenn., Two sisters and brother-in-law: Betty and Bud Burkett of Niota, Tenn., Brenda Stephens of Niota, Tenn., Grandchildren: Samantha (Jon) Case, Brittany (Garrett) Moreno, Cory Dilbeck, Ryan Dilbeck, and Ashli Arden, Great Grandchildren: Zoey Case, Connor Arden, Dalton (Megan)) Case, Bryanna Case, River Dilbeck, Sofia Dilbeck, Special Great Grandchild: Gracie, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Plaster officiating. Interment will follow in Niota Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cory Dilbeck, Ryan Dilbeck, Jon Case, Dalton Case, Damon Buckner, and K. J. Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Niota Volunteer Fire Dept. The family will recieve friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home.
