Billie Ruth Hicks Kyker, age 87 of Athens passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at her residence. A native of Englewood and a resident of McMinn County all of her life, she was the daughter of the late William Harry and Nina May Woods Hicks. She was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church for 45 years and worked as an LPN at the Foree Hospital, and as a clerk at the McMinn County Tax Assessors Office for 37 years. She loved to read, write poetry, spend time with her family, and was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Blane Kyker; infant daughter, Doris Jane Kyker; brother Jim Hicks.
Survivors;
One daughter and son-in-law; Judi and Steven Trew of Etowah.
One son; David Kyker of Athens.
Six grandchildren, Jeremy Trew ,Taylor Trew, William Kyker and wife Amber. Chance Seigler-Kyker, Alex Seigler-Kyker. Haven Seigler.
Three great-grandchildren,Oakley Kyker, Bentley Seigler, Blythe Prater
One sister; Doris Williams of Englewood. Several nieces an nephews.
A graveside service will be 2:00pm Thursday January 31, 2019 at Foster Cemetery with Rev. Danny Singleton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Trew, Taylor Trew, Chance Seigler-Kyker, William Kyker, Steve Miller, Andrew Gay
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Wednersday, January 30, 2019 at the funeral home. Those unable to attend may send condolences to www.laycockhobbs.com/notices/Billie-Kyker. Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
