Carolyn J. Rucker, age 79 of Athens, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at her home peacefully surrounded by her family. A native of Etowah and a resident of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Joe M. and Lillian Regina Russell Ingram. She enjoyed shopping and gardening, but her true love was being at home and taking care of her family. She was a happy soul who enjoyed life and helping others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Rucker; infant son, David LaLee; brothers, Leonard Ingram, Ogle Ingram; sister, Margaret Hembree.
Survivors;
Three daughters, Carolyn Annette Elliott, Deborah K. Bales; Rebecca L. Rucker; four granddaughters and spouse, Kayla and Gabe Helmuth, Candice N. Bales, Ashley V. Turner, Brystal H. Bales: two great grandsons, John David and Luke LaLee Long; siblings, Rev. Ray Ingram and Thomas Ingram; Special mention, Stephany Turner she loved her like a daughter. Many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family service at a later date. Pallbearers will be Tracy Ingram, Jamie Ingram, Tim Rucker, Melvin Hamby, Austin Jacobs, Gabe Helmuth. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Those unable to attend may send condolences to
