Carrie Lee O'Daniel, age 87 of Decatur passed away, Monday, March 21, 2023 at her residence.
A native and life long resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late James Alford and Mamie Pearson Sylvester and was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Edward O'Daniel; 2 sisters, Gertrude Hampton and Margaret Watters; 1 brother, Jimmy Sylvester.
She was a former employee of Athens Stove works having retired after 29 years of service. She was an avid Baseball fan and was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed working in her garden.
Survivors:
1 son, Robert Mikel Farner of Athens;
1 daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Donald Malone of Calhoun;
2 granddaughters and spouses, Danyelle and Jonathan Wiseman.
Angie and Eddie Hicks;
3 great-grandchildren, Khloe, Hunter and Ruby Wiseman; Jamey, Allie and Lucas Hicks.
Special friend, Aunt Clara Ramsey.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2023 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph A. Kemper officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Billy Palmer, Brad Hampton, Stacy Vaughn, Jonathan Wiseman, Haiden Linton and Chris Mowery.
