Cecil Franklin Baker

CECIL FRANKLIN BAKER,  age 88 of Athens Tenn. passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, former resident of Danville, Ky. a son of the late Arlie Arch and FairyDelll Boyd Baker and preceded in death by  three brothers: Edsel Baker, James Arlin Baker, Clay Baker, Three Sisters: Judith Baker, Uldine Baker, and Charlotte Earline Baker. He was always involved in furniture manufacturing including,  Carver Furniture, Athens Furniture, Charisma Furniture,  Jackson in Danville, Ky., and retired from Jackson Furniture of Danville, Ky.  He was a member of Fairview Baptist Tabernacle of Sweetwater, Tenn. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force where he was a mail clerk. 
Survivors: Wife of 33 years: Juliane Czakai Baker of Athens, Tenn., Two Daughters  and sons-n-law: Lisa Caroline  and Michael Turbyfill of Lenoir City, Tenn., Elizabeth (Polly)  and Jody Knight  of Bartlett, Tenn., Two Step Daughters and Husbands:: Sheila (Randy)  Gilbert of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Lisa  (Ed) Allen of Lenoir City, Tenn. Two Brothers and Sister-in-law: Danny Baker and Jackie and Brenda Baker of Athens, Tenn., Sister and Brother-in-law: Dawn and Jim Litz of Dalton, Ga., Four Grandchildren, Taylor Turbyfill, Brian (Makayla) Turbyfill, Logan Knight, Lucas Knight One Step Grandchild Jake Stanton  One Great Grandson:  Elliott Clayton Turbyfill.
Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M., Sunday, March 26, 2023 in McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Pete Mullins officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
