Charles "Junior" Martin, age 80 of Apex, NC beloved son of Charlie Martin and Inell Sneed Martin were reunited in heaven on July 25, 2024. Junior was born and raised in Englewood, TN. Work moved him all around the southeast until landing in Apex, NC in 1978.
Junior, or as some knew him by Charlie, married the love of his life JoAnn Mason of Niota, TN and recently celebrated 63 years together. Daddy to Lisa (Jacky) Buckner and Teresa (Mike) Clark of Apex, NC. Grandpa to Eric (Jacqueline) Buckner of Garner, NC, Tyler Clark and Mason Clark of Apex, NC. Great grandpa to Adalaide and Waylon Buckner. The apple of his eye was his furry daughter Molly.
Brother to Jerry (Kay) Martin of Englewood, TN, his uncle Joe (Linda) Sneed of Etowah, TN, brother-in-law, Lee Mason of Niota, TN. Several nieces and nephews whom he loved to tease.
Junior was a wonderful provider who always made sure his family was taken care of. Junior's girls were always priority. He enjoyed watching NASCAR on Sunday afternoons and spending time with friends at the New Hill Community Store.
In addition to Jesus and his parents other loved ones waiting at heaven's gate include in laws Raymond and Elsie Mason, brother-in-law, Ray Mason, sister-in-law, Louie Mason and a large family of Martins.
A graveside service conducted by Mike Clark will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:30 am at Mars Hill Cemetery in Englewood, TN. A luncheon will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Dixon Avenue Baptist Church immediately following the service.
Pallbearers are Eric Buckner, Tyler Clark, Mason Clark, Chad Martin, Bobby Freeman and Brice Freeman. Honorary pallbearer Joe Sneed.
The family wants to thank Dr. Christine Khandawal, Geriatrician for being by our side during this journey. Dr. Sommer Phillips and team at Raleigh Neurology. The amazing oncology team from WakeMed/Waverly Oncology and the WakeMed Cary medical teams especially the nurses for their care and compassion during his stay. All the friends and family from coast to coast that have showered us with love and prayers which strengthened us during this difficult time.
