Christodoulos "Chris" Kitsos

Christodoulos "Chris" Kitsos, aged 63, of Athens, TN passed away on October 19, 2024. Born on December 25, 1960, Chris was known for his happy and fun-loving nature. A self-proclaimed singer, he was loving, lovable, easy-going and deeply family oriented.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Anastasia, son Kyrkos, daughter Anna, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Christopher and Constantino; brother George Kitsos, sister-in-law Floriana, sister Angeliki Fotou and many nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Kyrkos Kitsos, and sister Elefteria Dosis and Lambrini Tsialios.

Chris immigrated to the United States with his family in 1992. He quickly became a beloved figure in Athens as the co-owner and partner of the Gondolier restaurant. He was renowned for his hospitality and genuine smile making the Gondolier a welcoming place for everyone.

Chris was deeply devoted to his family and was the cornerstone of family gatherings, making everyone laugh every chance he had. His marriage to Anastasia flourished over 41 years, blessed with their children and grandchildren. He took immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Christopher and Constantino. Chris's love for sports was evident in his leisure time; he was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic fan of basketball, especially the Milwaukee Bucks, and soccer, cheering for Olympiakos. 

Chris's life was marked by his joyful spirit, his love for his family, and his commitment to making everyone around him feel special. His presence will be deeply missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday, October 24, 2024, in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Father Starros Ballas officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm-7:00pm Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in the chapel.
