Clyde Shelton

CLYDE SHELTON,  age 86 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at his residence. He was a native of Meigs County, Tenn. , lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a son of the Clarence Clyde  and Fannie Millsaps Shelton and preceded in death by a son Marvin Shelton.  He was a Farmer and Wood Cutter. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. 
Survivors: Wife of 64 years: Mollie Goins Shelton of Athens, Tenn. Two Sons:  David Shelton of  Athens, Tenn.,  Danny Shelton of Athens, Tenn., Two Brothers: Charles Ray and Dana Shelton of Athens, Tenn., Carson Shelton of Athens, Tenn. Four Grandchildren: Jodie Sherlin, Jerimiah Shelton, Jason Shelton, Jamie Shelton, Eleven Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2021 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home Rev. Van Elkins officiating. Interment will follow in Short Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers will grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3-5 Saturday in the funeral home.
