David Harrison "Joe" Miller

David H. "Joe" Miller, age 75 of Athens passed away, Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Erlanger Medical Center.
A native and life-long resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Jesse William and Margaret Miller Miller, and was preceded in death by his wife, Viki Gail Derrick Miller on June 6, 2001;  Brother, Willard Miller, 1 sister Mable Anne Cogdill and Infant twin sisters Doris and Dora Miller. 
A former employee of Plastic Industries and was a Veteran of the U.S. National Gaurd.  
Survivors: 
1 son and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Jennifer Miller of Athens;
1 daughter, Deirdre "DeeDee" Miller Parsons of Athens;
1 brother, Mitchell and Peggy Miller of Meigs County, 
2 sisters, Mae Bell Beldsoe of Athens, Frances Wilson  of Middlesboro, KY
3 grandchildren Amanda and Nathan Branch, Damien Miller, William Barrett Parsons
3 great-grandsons, Micah Branch, Austin "A.J." Branch and Alexander Branch

Funeral services will be 8:00 PM Friday, August 14, 2020 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2020 at McMinn Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Womac, Phillip Womac, Monty Raper, Jerry Howell, Mark Swafford and Eddie Cansler.   Honorary pallbearers are Don Fillyaw and Adam Harris.
