Edna Britt Dixon, age 93 of Flintstone, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025. A native of Riceville, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Myrtle Lee Britt. Edna was a Head Start teacher for many years and was active in and held many offices for the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles Edward Dixon, with whom she served 67 years as a pastor’s wife in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church; and sister Lucille Britt Davis.
Edna is survived by her two daughters: Kitty Hays (Kenny) of Flintstone, GA and Cathy Paul (Tim) of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren: Tyson Hays (Faerlie), Ashlee Woods (Chris), Will Hays, and Kirby Deal (Haven); three great grandchildren: LB and Daisy Kizer and Blair Charles Woods; and nephew Scott Davis (Angie).
The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at Cedar Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Paul and Tyson Hays officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Country Haven Retirement Home, 120 Country Haven Lane, Ringgold, GA, 30736.
