Estell D. "Dean" Womac, age 84, of Athens passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at his residence, A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Lonzel Otis and Ruby Pierce Womac. He began his work life in the 8th grade hauling pulp wood with his father. After that he joined the United Iron Workers where he spent most of his time at TVA Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. He then ended his career by owning and operating a silo construction company. He was an avid member of the McMahan Calvary Baptist Church, McMinn County Bee Keepers Association, as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge. Dean was a wonderful father and husband who sacrificed and worked hard to provide for his family.

Three Grandchildren; Hannah Lorean Womac, Caleb Pierce Womac, Michelle Elizabeth Womac.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 18, 2020 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. The interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens after the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, August 17, 2020 in the chapel. Those unable to attend may send condolence to Laycockhobbs.com/notices/Estell-Womac. Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
