EVELYN "TINY" MALONE GEREN, age 84 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, in NHC of Athens, Tenn. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Jim and Laura Belcher Malone and preceded in death by Sisters: Jean Burton, Fannie Henderson, Brothers: Troy Malone, Warren Malone, and Mother-in-law: Minnie Patterson Geren. She retired from Athens Stove Works and member of Pope Ave. Baptist Church.
Survivors: Husband of 65 years: Eddie "Castro" Geren of Athens, Tenn., Daughter and son-in-law: Vickie and Ray Thomas of Athens, Tenn., Son and daughter-in-law: Stacey and Melissa Geren of Athens Tenn. Sister: Lorine McKeehan of Athens, Tenn., Four Granddaughters: Brittany and husband Brian Johnson, Haze Geren, Kayla Geren, Josie Green, Grandsons: Codey Geren and Nathan Thomas, Eight Great Grandchildren: Blake Thomas, Brycen Thomas, Bradley Thomas, Kamden Geren, Cohen Geren, Bryce Johnson, Brendan Johnson, and Laken Thomas, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Van Elkins officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Thomas, Wesley Lynch, Billy Martin, Codey Geren, Anthony King, and Brian Johnson. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
