Evelyn Alfreda Robinson

Evelyn Alfreda Solsbee Robinson, age 75 of Athens and formerly of Niota went home to be with her Lord on January 14, 2022 .

Evelyn was a 1965 graduate of McMinn County High School and a former employee of Crazy Ed's Truck Stop Restaurant where she worked until her health forced her to quit her job. Evelyn enjoyed being with her family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved communicating with all her Facebook friends and was always coloring for therapy. Evelyn attended Riceville Church of God until her health prevented her from being able to go.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her father and mother: Alfred Frank Solsbee and Della Rae Barnett Solsbee. She leaves behind to cherish her memory 3 children: Kimberly Dorman of Athens, Angelia Clark of Cleveland, and Amy Greene of Decatur. 6 grandchildren: April Hutson, Megan Hutson, Mariah Davis and her husband Corey, Jayci Clark, Jacob Greene and Raegan Greene, and 6 great grandchildren. One sister Wanda Lingerfelt and husband Ronnie, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Two very special nieces Jennifer Raper and Libby Rue. A special friend, Rondell Morgan and two wonderful caregivers: Emily Foster and Tami.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have been a big part in the care of Evelyn throughout the past few years. A big thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga that has given such wonderful care to Evelyn and her family during this difficult time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane White officiating. Interment will follow in Foster Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Corey Davis, Jacob Greene, Dwayne Rogers, J.L. Barnett, Dwight Walden and Colby Barnett. Honorary pallbearer will be Edward Barnett. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
