Frances Lee Rule, age 66, of Athens, TN went home to be with Jesus on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Life Care Center of Cleveland, TN.
She was born on September 24, 1956 in Athens, TN to the late Albert W & Gladys Bernice Lankford Collins. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Roger, Ronnie, and Ralph Collins, sisters: Wanda Harris and Shirley Scott. She leaves behind sons: Jamey Davis (Fiancé: Ruby King), DeWayne (Sheryl) Howard, brother: Otto “Junior” Fincher, sister: Bobbie Martin, grandchildren: Alex (Shade) Holland, Dwight Howard, Colleen Crabtree, CJ Davis, Reagan Crabtree, 1 great granddaughter, 5 nieces and nephews, and many friends who love her dearly, and will miss her greatly. She also leaves behind her best friend, Donna Moore, of Ten Mile, TN, whom she cherished greatly.
Frances spent the majority of her career in the banking industry and retired from the City of Kingston water department. She enjoyed reading her Bible, attending gospel concerts, cooking, entertaining, decorating, spending time with family, and playing solitaire. She also loved flowers of every kind. She surrendered her life to follow Jesus in 1995 and was baptized shortly thereafter. She spent the rest of her life serving in the church and the community. She was a faithful member of GraceWay Church of Plant City, FL where her son, DeWayne, is the Pastor.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, February 9th, in the funeral home, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Pastor DeWayne Howard officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 10th, in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Athens.
