Glenn F. Barnett, Jr. age 75, of Athens passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens. A native of Englewood, and a resident of McMinn County all of his life, he was the son of the late Glenn Floyd and Etta Greene Barnett ,Sr. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from CSX Railroad. He was in the Okinawa during the Vietnam War having served in the U. S. Army, and was a member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge. He loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Betty White, Fonda Ballew and Lucille Floberg.
Survivors include:
Three daughters and sons-in- law; Teresa Evans of Etowah, Darlene and Dean Anderson of Charleston and Misty and Bobby Harper of Cleveland,
One son and daughter-in-law; Randall and Pam Barnett of Athens,
Mother of his children; Frances Barnett of Athens
Grandchildren; Brandon Noble, Devon Morgan, Lauren Demirjian, Drew Pierce, Luke Gardner, Marcus Bonnett;
Four great-grandchildren.
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Friday, January 24, 2020 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
The graveside will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 25, 2020 at McMinn Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Devon Morgan, Drew Pierce, Brandon Noble.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday before the service at the funeral home.
