Herman Thomas Richesin

       Herman Tom Richesin, age 81 of Athens, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 19, 2024. A native of Maryville, and a resident of McMinn County most of his life, he was the son of the late Herman and Trula Yarberry Richesin. He was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church, and served as a Military Police in the U.S. Army in Korea. He loved his daughters, Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene, gardening and farming, and later in his life gave his heart to Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Howard Richesin (June 28, 2009); one son, Jimmy Thomas Richesin; one daughter, Kristy Sewell. 
Survivors;
Two daughters, Beverly Fleury of Athens, Julie Sisk of Athens; four grandchildren, Doug and Sarah Richesin, Brandon Sewell, Kobe Sisk; two great grandchildren, Chris Richesin, Caleb Leroy; two sisters and brother-in-law, Gale Small, and Martha and Bill Dawson; A special friend, Billy.
       Funeral services will be 7 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Idlewild Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Packett officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday before the service at the church. There will be a private family burial at a later date.
