LAVONNE WALLACE CRABTREE, age 92 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Friday Nov. 29, 2024, at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Reed David and Ana Ruth Webb Wallace and preceded in death by Husband: James William "Joe" Crabtree, Brothers: R. D. Wallace, Jerry M. Wallace, George Arnold Wallace, and Sister: Cleeta Wallace Buckner, Son-in-law: Gene McDaniel, Grandson: Jamie Crabtree and Great Granddaughter: Aliza Robinson. She was retired from Athens Hosiery Mill and had worked at Cresent Hosiery Mill and Niota Textiles. She was of the Baptist Faith .
Survivors: Three sons and daughters-in-law: William Reed "Butch" and Diana Crabtree of Niota, Tenn. Ricky Joe and Mona Crabtree of Niota, Tenn. David Ross and Wendy Crabtree of Martin, Georgia, Two Daughters: Debbie Vanessa McDaniel of Ft. Payne, Ala. and Dianne Vonette Crabtree of Athens, Tenn., Brother: Wiley Wallace of Niota, Tenn., 10 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, 13 Great Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Great Grandchildren, Special Friend and Caregiver: Alma Casteel Special Friend: Ruth Teague and her "Other Son" Wesley Jennings, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday in McMinn Memory Gardens with Chris Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Maynard and Staff, Hospice of Chattanooga, and Accent Home Health Care for their love and care.
