DAILY WILLARD "JACK" GRUBB, age 94, of Athens TN. passed peacefully away March 16, 2025 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, a son of the late Rev. Hubert and Lillie Mae Rogers Grubb and preceded in death by Brothers: James Grubb, Frank Grubb, Clyde Grubb, Johnny Grubb and Dennis Fred "Dip" Grubb, and Kenneth Grubb. He was a 1948 Graduate of McMinn County High School. He was a member Clearwater Baptist Church. He retired from Mayfield Dairy Farm after 60 plus years of service. He was former President and member of Athens Optimist Club and was a Board member and involved with Soil Conservation Service and was always for the farmer in helping make a better life for them. He was actively involved with many community events, 4-H, FFA, and other groups throughout the years. He was a Lt. Col. with Tennessee Defense Task Force, member of National Guard and served on Active Duty in the U. S. Army during the Korean War where he served as an Instructor.
Survivors: Wife of 72 years: Oneida Perry Grubb of Athens, Tenn. Son: Jacky ( Rebecca) Grubb of Athens, Tenn., Daughter: Melinda (Ronnie) Miller of Madisonville, Tenn. Brother: Wayne Grubb, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 20, 2025 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Hutsell officiating. Interment will follow in Clearwater Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home.
