Jimmie "Jim" Garner Neil, age 89 of Athens, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at Signature Heath Care of Cleveland. A native of Meigs County and resident of McMinn County for many years. he was the son of the late Wallace and Nellie Hoback Neil, He was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, and worked as a self employed brick mason for many years. He was preceded in death by his sons, William Author Neil and James Franklin " Frank" Neil; daughter, Loretta Maria Neil Clark; former wife, Linda Brown Neil; siblings, Judy Ohman, Delois Neil Gamble, Sterling "Bunt" Neil, He was loved and adored by all his family. The family is thankful for all that he has bestowed upon them. He will be missed greatly.

Daughters and son-in-law,Tricia and Michael Randolph, Sr. of Cleveland, Linda Sue Neil of Georgia, Erica Couch of Athens; grandchildren, Tiffany Neil Massengill , Deborah Moses (Kanji Sengoku), Brandy Neil, David Gregg, Angellina M. Lankford ; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Raper, Alicia Conboy, Hannah Raper and Katie Raper ,Kenshiro Sengoku and Jotaro Sengoku, his buddies Braynell "Bray" Gardner and Cornell Gunter, Jr, they referred to him as "Greatpaw"; Great Great Grandchildren: Sam Brumlow and Charlie Conboy several nieces and nephews.
