JIMMY DELL WOMACK, age 82 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024,at his residence. He was a native of Meigs County, resident of McMinn County for many years, a son of thee late Doc Elexander and Amanda Goforth Womack, and preceded in death by Six Brothers: Jess, Harvey, Dude, William, James "Cotton," and William Womack; Three Sisters: Pearl Palmer, Reba Moses, and Hazel Womack. He was a former employee of Athens Stove Co. and retired from Thomas and Betts. He was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church.
Wife of 63 years: Martha Raye McGahhey Womack of Athens, Tenn. Two Sons: James Randell "Randy" Womack of Athens, Tenn. Michael "Mike" Elexander and Carol Womack of Athens, Tenn., Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Van Elkins. Interment will follow in Beta Cemetery in Meigs County. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home.
