Joseph "Joey" Tyler Allen

Joseph "Joey" Allen, age 42, of Athens, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at Parkridge Medical Center. A resident of McMinn County most of his life, he was a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church and attended Mount Harmony Baptist Church. He was an employee of Mills Products. He enjoyed cooking, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping and boating at the lake. He loved his family and cherished their time together. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Gladys Leamon and Robert and Lola Allen.
Survivors include; wife, Teresa Jorgenson Allen of Athens; daughter, Willow Allen of Athens; step son, Blake Jorgenson of Athens; parents, Larry and Deloris Allen of Riceville; brother and sister-in-law, DeWayne and Kristy Allen of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law "Mamaw" Rose Brown; nieces, Mary Alice and Lola.
Funeral services will be 7 pm Monday, May 20, 2024 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Stephens officiating. The graveside services will be 11 am Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Monday before the service at the funeral home.
