Juanita Agnes Turbyfill

Juanita Simpson Turbyfill, age 97 of Niota peacefully went to be with the Lord in her home Friday, June 23, 2023. A native of Walker County, Georgia and resident of Niota for the past 35 years, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Audrey Carter Simpson. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith and a member of Pond Hill Baptist Church. She was a pastor's wife for over fifty years, shared many roles in church leadership, and was WMU director of Sweetwater Baptist Association in the mid 60's. She was retired from Starr Regional Medical Center where she worked in the dietary center. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Virgil Turbyfill (June 12, 2008); son, Dennis Edward Turbyfill; one brother, Jimmy Simpson.
Survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Carolyn Turbyfill of Athens, Charles and Katherine of Lenior City, TN; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Lloyd Price of Blountville, TN; eight granddaughters Debbie Arthur, Dana Turbyfill, Tina Brown, Tonya Delashmitt,Carrie Arden, Erin McCroskey, Tara McCroskey, Mallory McCroskey; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Pond Hill Cemetery with the Rev. James Mason officiaiting. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons and other family members. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 pm Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in the chapel.
