Kathleen Evans

Kathleen Evans, age 70 of Athens, passed away, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at her home.
She was born in Athens and later moved to Springfield, Massachusetts where she lived for 23 years and worked at Service Master until moving back to Athens in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Evans Johnson; her grandparents, Katherine and Herchal Evans; 1 Uncle, Bobbie Evans, Sr.;  
1 grandson, Saquan Evans and 2 great-grandchildren, Keyara Jackson and Jameer Moore.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory:

• 3 daughters, Dorothy Evans, Marquitta Evans and Vashti Evans all of Athens;
• 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara and Bob Jones and Stephanie Johnson all of Athens, Edna Tookie Roberts of Madisonville;
• 1 brother and sister-in-law, John and Laura Johnson of Athens;
• 7 grandchildren and spouses, Nick Evans, Latoya and Jeff Moore, Falon Evans, Malika Evans, Mylasia Hunt, Jalen Hunt and Davion Evans;
• 7 great-grandchildren;
• Special cousin and wife, Bobbie, Jr. and Teri Evans;
• Special friend Teeya Cannon;
• Several other nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2019 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Saunders officiating. 

Interment will follow in Hammond Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be her nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
