Kenneth "Ken" Gene Crabtree

Kenneth (Ken) Gene Crabtree, age 79 of Athens passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Lifecare Center of Athens. A native of Baltimore, Maryland and a resident of McMinn County most of his life, he was the son of the late Clifford Bryant and Julia Corine Wallis Crabtree. He was a member of the Athens VFW. He enjoyed vacationing at the beach and his cabin at Watts Bar Lake. He loved to be with his family and friends reminiscing about times past. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shorty and Anna Cunningham.

Survivors;

Wife of 53 years, Miss Jo Cunningham Crabtree of Athens; Daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Brian Vercher of Athens; granddaughter, Lauren McDonald; great grandson, Dylan Clark. brother-in-law John Cunningham; several nieces and nephews; the joy of his life, his cat "Cookie".

Visitation for the family will be 4-6 pm Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flower, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
