KERMIT W. JOUDRY, age 93 of Athens, Tenn. died Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Starr Regional Health and Rehabilitation Center in Etowah, Tenn. He was born in Oneonta Island, New York, grew up in Sharon Springs and Gouverneur New York, a son of the late Rev. Robert C. and Hazel Miller Joudry and preceded in death by two sisters: Eugenie J. Gardner and Rita J. Boggess. He lived in New York State until 1954 and graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1946 and graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1950. He served in the U. S. Army 2 years during the Korean War. After returning from serving the Army, worked in retail management for W.T. Grants and Kmart. He worked in New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and last 25 years in Atlanta, Georgia. Retired early to travel visiting 30 countries and 46 states.
Survivors: Two Sisters: Janet J. Sabo of Hudson Falls, New York and Kathleen J. Williams of Glen Falls, New York,. Friend, traveling companion and caregiver: Phyllis Thomas of Athens, Tenn., several special nieces and nephews, and several special great nieces and nephews, friend: John Grenard. Special thanks to Dottie, Bill and Keith.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Larry Arwood officiating. By request of Mr. Joudry there will be no formal visitation.
