Margaret Violet McCosh Cobble, 85, of Niota, Tennessee passed away on July 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.Margaret was born on April 7, 1937 in Athens TN. She was the daughter of Clifford and Nettie McCosh.
Margaret graduated from McMinn County High School in 1955. Early in her work career she was employed by Cherokee Photo Finishers and later worked at Revco Pharmacy. She retired from Athens Products after 29 years of service.
Margaret married O.B. Cobble on November 5, 1955. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year. The couple were blessed with three daughters, five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Margaret had the gift of hospitality. Her greatest joy came from serving her family. She loved to cook and bake. No one ever came to her house without being offered food and drink and no grandchild or great-grandchild ever left her home without a goodie bag.
Remaining to cherish Margaret’s memory are spouse, O.B. Cobble; children, Diane (Don) Frank, Annette (David) Boreing, Loretta (Jeff) Grubb; grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) McDonald, Amanda (Nic) Barnes, John David (Rachel) Boreing, Emily Wade, Jillian (Alex) Street; great-grandchildren, Madison and Parker McDonald, Mia, Jacob, Reid, and Callie Barnes, Paxton, Weston, Cecilia, Laura, and Haddon Boreing, Conner Wade, Cooper Jorgenson, River Street; sisters, Joyce Burns, Pat (Bobby) Mullis; brother Doug (Nancy) McCosh; sister-in-law Imogene Smith, brother-in-law Vaughn Priestwood; Many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Margaret in death are her parents, Clifford and Nettie McCosh; Sisters, Polly Click and Mary Anne McCosh Hamilton; Brothers, Raymond McCosh, Wendell McCosh, and Farrell McCosh
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7 from 5:00-7:00 pm with the funeral following at 7:00 pm at Laycock Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, Tennessee. Eddie Click officiating. Interment will be in the Niota Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Margaret’s memory may be directed to the local Cancer Society.
