Margaret Jean Mason

MARGARET BOHANNON MASON,  age 94 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023,  in Knoxville, Tenn., She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, a daughter of the late Roy Samuel and Julia Ann Slack Bohannon and preceded in death by her Husband: Charles Glenn Mason and Brothers: James William Bohannon and Carl "Cotton" Bohannon. She was a homemaker devoted to her family and church  and employed for a while by  Athens City School System.  She  was the oldest living member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church.  She was active for many years in Allen Memorial  United Methodist Women's Unit.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law:  Stephen Edward and Darlene Mason of Loudon, Tenn., Two Daughters: Glenna Mason Hutchison of Corryton, Tenn., Melinda Mason Ross of Knoxville, Tenn.  Eight Grandchildren,  Thirteen Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Special Friend: Larry Edgemon. The family would like to thank the nurses and workers of Amedysis Hospice and Oncore Healthcare. 
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 27, 2023 in Allen Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Wright and Dr. Rev. Charles Ensminger officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the church.  Memorial contributions to Allen Memorial United Methodist Church.
