Margie Kelley Wilson, 92, took her eternal trip to Heaven with her family's love surrounding her, on
October 20,
2023. She was born in Cleveland, but spent most of her life in Athens.
She went to meet those that have gone before her. Her father and mother, Roy and Audrey Kelley.
Brother, Howard Kelley. Sisters, Juanita Poteet and Linda Blymiller. Daughter-in-law, Nita Wilson. She has been joyfully reunited with her husband of 49 years, who also preceded her in death 27 years ago, Roy R. Wilson.
She is a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Athens, and has also attended Eastanallee Baptist Church in Riceville when she was able, to be with her sons and their families.
In her early years she worked at Hardwick Woolen Mill in Cleveland. She was the Secretary and Co-owner of Wilson Manufacturing in Cleveland. She worked and retired from K-Mart in Athens.
She is survived by her sister Francis (Raymond) Simpson, several nieces and nephews that she treated as her own children.
Her sons, Dan R. Wilson Sr. and Ronald A. (Vicki) Wilson, grandchildren (listed by birth) Christina (Tim) Plemons, Dan R. Wilson Jr., Traci (Cody) Field, Jeremy Wilson, Amber (Stacy) Warren, and Zachary (Afton) Wilson.
Great Grandchildren, Jake (Kami) Plemons, Will (Sydney) Plemons, Blake Warren, Levi Field, Madelyn Field, Baleigh Warren, Maverick Wilson, and Emerson Schoessel.
Great-great grandchildren, Grace, Addie, Luke, Wyatt and Olivia Plemons.
She had several close friends and relatives who visited and stayed in contact up until the end whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 22, 2023, 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with her nephew, Jimmy Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM- 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Pall bearers will be Dan Wilson Jr., Jeremy Wilson, Zach Wilson, Levi Field, Stacy Warren, Jake Plemons, and Will Plemons. Private family graveside will follow after the service.
In lieu of flowers, Margie has requested to have donations made to the Cemetery Funds of either:
