Martha Stewart Prichard, age 100 of Athens, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Athens Place.
She was a native and life-long resident of McMinn County and daughter of the late James Robert "Bob" and Callie Whitner Stewart, and was preceded in death by 3 brothers, C.J. Stewart, Samuel Stewart, James Stewart and 3 sisters, Juanita McPeek, Dorothy McMillan and Nellie Sue Elrod .
She was the oldest living member of North Athens Baptist Church and a former employee of Van Raalte Hosiery Mill, Athens Products and retired from Walmart at the age of 95 where she was a greeter and worked in the garden department.
Survivors:
1 son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Doris Prichard of Knoxville;
1 daughter Linda Morrow of Athens;
1 sister, Oneta Wright of Athens;
3 grandchildren and spouses, Andrea Sutera, Wendi and Mitch Peels, David and Heather Prichard;
6 great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Matthew, Josh, Alex, Callie and Ryan;
Several nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Kerr and Rev. Dallas Nance officiating.
Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Casey McDaniel, Shannon McDaniel, Frank McMillan, Edwin Stewart, Sid Wright and Dallas Nance. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Monday, May 6, 2019 at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Athens Place for their care of their loved one.
