MaryLou Wilson

MaryLou Tanner Wilson, age 83 of Athens, passed away, Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Hospice of Chattanooga.

A native of Maryland and current resident of Athens she was a daughter of the late William Henry Tanner and Margaret Louise Bernard and Ken Bostwick and was preceded in death by a brother, William Tanner.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Tabernacle and enjoyed going to church and listening to gospel music. She was a former employee of the United States Postal Service having retired after 25 years of service.

She was an avid gardener, enjoyed crocheting and traveling.

Survivors:

Husband of 49 years, David L. Wilson

2 sons, John Dewdney; Kevin Jones 

2 daughters and son-in-law, Sam and Mike Dempsey and Stacy Wilson;

2 step-daughters, Dana Wilson and Laura Wilson

Grandchildren, Stephen Cory Wilson, Lilly Lopez , Jessie Jacob Wilson, Nina Dewdney, Heather Minic and Husband Will and Michael Brock.

1 great-grandchild, Brock Minic;

Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Monday, January 13, 2025 at Faith Baptist Tabernacle with Pastor Jeff Evans officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM Monday prior to the service at the church.
