Peggy Sue Farris Shamblin was born April 17th, 1965 to the late Jessie and Betty Farris. She entered into eternal peace with her Savior on August 30th, 2024. She was 59 years old.
A jack of all trades, Peggy accomplished many things in her life. She was a certified medical assistant, phlebotomist, and most notably, a talented cosmetologist. She co-owned and operated The Shear Touch in Athens for years.
A force to be reckoned with, Peggy always stood her ground and spoke her mind. She never faltered in her service to the ones she loved, and took care of them until she drew her last breath. She was known for her abilities in the kitchen and her inability to cook for anything less than an army. Peggy made sure that everybody had a place at her table. She was a servant at heart and wanted nothing more than to care for her family, no matter how she felt herself.
She is preceded in death and reunited in Heaven with her parents, Jessie and Betty Farris, husband, Fred Shamblin, and stepdaughter, Amanda Shamblin.
She is survived by a host of loving friends and family to cherish her memory. One brother, Lynn Farris. Three sisters, Billie Sue Shelton, Cathy (Richard) Lamb, Huberta (Mike) Shannon. Special nieces and nephews, Hannah Lamb, Jamey (Camara) Roberts, Austin (Meghan) Shannon, Hailey Shannon (Heath Hicks), Kayla Gilman, Jonathan (Charity) Lamb. Great nieces and nephews, Lexie Myers, Jesse Roberts, Neyland Roberts, Peyton Roberts, Parker Roberts, Madison Lamb, Mallory Lamb and Colton Lamb. Special friends Sharon and Steve Wood.
