Ransom J Hudson

Ransom J. Hudson, age 85 of Riceville passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at an area hospital.
He was born July 30, 1937 in Orlo Vista, FL to the late James R. Hudson and Lillie Hudson Williams and was preceded in death by a son, Les Hudson; and a brother, James Hudson.
He was a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church and the Athens Lions Club and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He retired from Lockheed Martin formerly known as Martin Marietta after 30 years of service and was a former employee of Riceville Elementary School where he was lovingly known as "Mr. Ran."
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Wanda Scott Hudson;
2 sons and spouses, Thomas (Karen) Hilley of Bad Orb, Germany; Greg (Diane) Hilley of Sevierville;  
Sisters-in-law, Carolyn Butler of Port Wentworth, GA and Margie Scott of Dalton, GA;
Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David (Millie) Scott of Dalton GA;
Several nieces, nephews and grandchildren;
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Eastanallee Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Hutsell officiating.
Interment will follow in Eastanallee Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Jeff Combs, Tracy Wilson, Mike Thornburg, Richard Brogan, Larry Lane and Scott Reed.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Funeral Home.  Those unable to attend may send condolences to https://www.laycock-hobbs.com/obituaries/ransom-hudson.  Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
