Robert Harrison "Harry" Roy, Jr, age 72 of Athens passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at his residence. A native of Maryville and a resident of McMinn County most of his life, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Ann Chastain Roy. Harry was a beloved member of his community and committed 16 years to Denso Manufacturing before retiring. He also proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years as an Aviation Boatswain Mate achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Harry loved his family with a passion unlike any other, and it is through that light we will carry on his love, blessings and traditions. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richmond King and Gertrude Webb Chastain. Fair winds and following seas Chief.

Wife of 38 years; Sharon Roy of Athens
Son, Keith Roy and grandchildren, William and Marcus and a large loving extended family.
The funeral service will be 7:00 pm Thursday, February 20, 2020 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Vest officating.
There will be a private graveside service with military honors at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, February 20, 2020 before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
