Shirley Ann Barnett Morgan

Shirley Ann Barnett Morgan, age 86 of Athens passed away April 9, 2024 at Dominion Assisted Living. A native and life-long resident of Athens she was a daughter of the late E.L. and Ruby Hairell Barnett and was preceded in death by her husband of  56 years, Fred Gordon "Fuzz"  Morgan; and a brother Eddie Barnett and her Aunt Dot.
She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church, was formerly employed at the McMinn/Meigs County Contact Center as Assistant Director, did volunteer work at Athens Regional Medical Center and was a substitute Teacher for the County Schools.
Survivors:
3 sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Beverly Morgan; Tim Morgan and Jill Richey all of Newport.;  Mark and Melissa Morgan of Etowah;
2 grandchildren and spouses, Leia and John Woodby, Devon and Carlye Morgan;
3 great-grandchildren, Annabelle Morgan, Violet Mae Morgan and Jaxon Woodby.
3 Nephews, Travis Barnett, Johnny Johnson, Alan Johnson
2 Nieces, Jill Watson and Vicki Price

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 12, 2024 at Wildwood Baptist Church with Travis Barnett and Mark Morgan officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunrise Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Devon Morgan, Travis Barnett, Will Barnett, Ricky Morgan, Robby Davis and Johnny Johnson.  Honorary Pallbearers Mark Morgan, Wayne (Booger) Goodman, Larry (lum) Duggan and Bud (BW) Cooley.The family will receive friends from 12 Noon-2:00 PM Friday prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Wildwood Baptist Church.
