BETTY (SUE) FOXX, age 79 of Athens Tenn.. passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at her residence. She was a native of Andrews North Carolina, resident of McMinn County since 1979, a daughter of the late Thomas Manuel and Mattie Dailey Painter and preceded in death by Son; James Edward Fox, Daughter: Lisa Rena Fox Lyles, Grandson: Thomas Wayne Queen, Sisters: Grace Whitner, Polly Ann and husband Clarence Pack. She was the life of the party and was the host that took care of everybody She was an active member of West View Baptist Church . She always put herself last and everybody else first. She was loved by all and (she loved her friends). Beloved Wife, Mom, and grandmother:
Survivors: Husband of 42 years: J C Foxx Mother of Johnny Queen and wife: Susie, on: Son: Scott Fox and wife Sherry, Mamaw of 11 grandchildren and thirteen Great Grandchildren, Three Brothers: Tom and Louise Painter of Georgia, James and Sandy Painter of Kentucky and Tony and Diannna Painter of North Carolina, several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 12:00 Noon Friday, July 14, 2023, in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Whited officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
