Vaughn D Priestwood

Vaughn D. Priestwood, age 91 of Niota, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022 at his residence. A native of McMinn County, he was the son of the late George Hilton and Fannie Easter Belcher Presswood. He was a member of East Niota Baptist Church and was retired from Dycho Chemical Company after 67 years of dedicated service. He loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Vaughn never met a stranger and looked forward to marking things off his bucket list. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Barbara  "Tootsie" Cobble Priestwood ( August 5, 2017), one sister, Mattie Marie Walden,  brother J.W. Presswood, and infant brother, George Edward Priestwood.
Survivors include;
Two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Pat Priestwood of Athens. Jeff and Kim Priestwood of Crossville, TN;  Four grandchildren and spouses, Eric and Katie Priestwood of Knoxville, Adam and Angela Priestwood of Athens, Kayli and Wes Hall of Lebanon, Trey Priestwood of Crossville; Four Great Grandchildren, Jackson, Harrison, Madelyn. and Amelia. Two sisters Gussie Richesin, Mildred McDowell. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. Several neighbors who were like family.
Funeral services will be 7 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Plaster officiating. The graveside will be 11am Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022 at McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Wednesday before the service at the funeral home.
