Virginia Louise Rollins

Virginia Louise Rollins, age 76 of Riceville passed away, Thursday, August 22, 2024 at her residence. A native of Athens and resident of Riceville she was a daughter of the late Thomas Lee "T.L." and Elsie Letha Moses Rollins. She was retired from the United States Postal Service after more than 30 years of service. She began her career serving as a mail carrier in Sweetwater and later transferred to the Athens post office as a clerk. She enjoyed interacting with the people she served. She loved to prepare special meals for family and friends, was an avid gardener who loved to fill her lawn with beautiful flowers and shrubbery and she also loved to travel. 

Survivors: 2 sisters, Brenda Rollins of Riceville; and Sheila Rollins of Athens; A host of cousins;

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 25, 2024 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 26, 2024 at McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
