Walter Jack Kennedy

Walter Jack Kennedy, age 96 of Athens, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens. A native of Terra Bella, California and resident of McMinn County all of his life, he was the son of the late Huff Farrell and Julia Simpson Kennedy. Jack was a lover of hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. He was a part time farmer, a member of Sewee Church of God and was retired from Mayfield's Dairy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Louise Kennedy; brother, Herbert Cecil Kennedy; and sister, Maxine Newton. 

Survivors include, daughter, Debbie Kennedy of Athens; son Ricky Kennedy (Mitzi) of Athens; daughter, Pam Kennedy Nicely (Joey) of Sharps Chapel, TN; son, Jamie Kennedy (Sherri) of Athens; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff of Dominion Assisted Living in Athens for their care and kindness over the past two years. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Sewee Cemetery with the Pastor Linda Parton officiating.
