Wayne Homer Byers

WAYNE HOMER BYERS,  age 86 of Athens, Tn. passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 13, 2022,  at his residence. He was a native of Mineral Bluff, Ga., resident of McMinn County, Tn. for 40 years.  He was a son of the late Floyd and Dester Byers. Wayne was a dedicated husband and father who loved his family. He was an avid golfer and also loved puttering about on his tractor.  Goodbye for now, we know he is with his Heavenly Father and we will see him again.
Survivors: Wife of 32 years: Maria Byers , Daughter: Rebecca Schapansky, Son: Rick Byers, Daughter-in-law: Brenda Byers, Sister: Shirley Chastain, Brother-in-law: Larry Chastain, 4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father John Arthur Orr officiating.
